    Responsibilities

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily:

     

    • Manage a small team of professional accounting staff to achieve departmental goals
    • Ensure timely, accurate and complete US GAAP financial reporting to Corporate Finance
    • Management of the local business Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) program including the provision of support to both internal and external auditors
    • Responsible for budgetary control
    • Preparation and review of statutory accounts and coordinate the local external audit including implementation of IFRS
    • Develop, implement and enforce compliance with accounting policies and procedures and internal controls over financial reporting
    • Manage a sophisticated product costing system that calculates and reports all product costs and production variances (Oracle), analyse production variances and provide to management together with proactive remedial actions
    • Management of local VAT compliance
    • Cash management
    • Interact with local site management
    • Assist in global Oracle implementation
    • Perform other duties as assigned
    • Occasional travel may be required

    Qualifications

    The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for this position.

    • Must be a qualified accountant with demonstrable experience at Controller level in a multinational business.
    • At least 5 years post qualification experience in a manufacturing environment, with extensive “hands on” costing experience and a strong technical background.
    • Must have experience of delivering business accounts to local statutory and US GAAP requirements.
    • Must have experience of preparing financial accounts in accordance with a Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) programme.
    • The ability and willingness to get involved in the detailed preparation of accounts to short deadlines is critical.
    • Experience of using Oracle is advantageous.
